How to Make Herbal Infused Ice: Benefits, Uses, and Step by Step


Herbal-infused ice is an excellent addition to your drinks, offering more than just a chill factor. It can also be used in various recipes and skincare routines. It's easy to make and an upgrade from plain TAP WATER, 😂 providing a replenishing, hydrating, and EARTHY touch. Below, are 3 herbal infused ice recipes.





Easy and Common Herbs to Use

Use fresh or dry herbs and fruits:

Step by Step Guide


Necessary Tools:

  • Fresh or dried herbs

  • Water (Distilled, Spring, or Filtered)

  • Lemon and/or Lime (optional)

  • Honey (optional)

  • Vegetable Glycerin (optional)

  • Ice Tray

  • Teabag or strainer

  • Cup




Prepare the Herbs

  1. Wash the fresh herbs to remove any dirt or pesticides. For a thorough cleaning, add vinegar and water (1:4) and soak 5-10 minutes then dry.

  2. For dried herbs, add to a teabag for an easier strain.




Create your Infusion

  1. Boil 2 cups of water.

  2. Add 1-2 tablespoons herbs of your choosing to 2 cups

  3. Steep 10-15 minutes, then cool.

  4. Remove teabag or strain the infusion into a cup.

Optional: Add lemon, lime, or honey.



Breakout the Icetray

  1. Pour the tea into the icetray.

  2. For aesthetics, neatly and gently add the herbs and sprigs into each compartment of the ice tray.

  3. Place the icetray in the freezer for 4-6 hours ,or until completely solid.

  • 1 teaspoon peppermint

  • 1 teaspoon dandelion root

  • Optional: Lemon or honey when cooled

  • Steep herbs in one cup of water for 10-15 minutes. Strain and serve warm or chilled.

Recipe 2

  • 1 teaspoon dandelion leaf

  • 1/2 teaspoon elderberry

  • 1/2 teaspoon burdock root

  • Steep herbs in one cup of water for 10-15 minutes. Strain and serve warm or chilled.

Great for boosting immune system.



Recipe 3

1 teaspoon chamomile

1 teaspoon lemon balm

1/2 teaspoon lavender

1/4 teaspoon valerian root

Steep for 10–15 minutes in one cup of water, strain, and enjoy 1 hour before bedtime.

Great for insomnia or trouble sleeping.


Herbal Infused Ice for Skin

These following herbs can be beneficial to the skin. They're hydrating to the skin, add nutrients, and reduce inflammation. Then check out a couple recipes:

Recipe 1

1 teaspoon roses

1 teaspoon green tea

Steep the herbs in a cup of hot water for 10 minutes. Cool, then pour into ice tray with or without the herbs and freeze. Gently massage unto your skin

  • Aloe Vera

  • Cucumber

  • Slice the cucumber and aloe, blend it and strain it. Add vegetable glycerin for longer shelf life. Pour into icetray and freeze. Apply to your skincare routine as an early morning refresher.

Great for reducing acne, refreshing and brighten skin.




Tips

  • Only add honey when the tea has cooled.

  • Use the ice cubes within 2 weeks.

  • To prevent freezer-burn and staleness, store the ice cubes in a sealed container.
