Can Herbs Repair Teeth? | Herbs for Dental Health | Herbal Remedies for Tooth Decay

Many herbs have the ability to improve dental health. This can include improving and preventing tooth decay, whitening teeth, inflammation, and more. I have used many of these herbs for a variety of uses. My personal favorite is clove oil.

  • Chewing on a raw onion can increase dental health

  • Due to its sulfuric compounds, onions provide antibacterial properties

  • Antiseptic, anti-microbial properties

Cloves

  • Provides pain relief

  • Holds anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal, anti-microbial properties

  • One of its most potent properties is antiseptic, due to its ability to numb tooth pain



Peppermint

  • Greatly known for its ability to freshen stanky breath.

  • Peppermint contains anti-inflammatory properties

  • Soothes gum inflammation

  • Reduces nausea

  • Great for oil pulling because of its ability to clean the gums and reduce plaque


Black Walnut Bark

  • Teeth whitener

  • Removes dental stains of many types


Chew Stick aka Miswak

  • Primarily used as a toothbrush in parts of Africa and Asia

  • Whitens teeth

  • Prevents tooth decay

  • Removes plaque

  • Remineralize teeth



Coconut Oil

  • Antifungal, anti-inflammatory properties

  • Helps fight bacteria

  • The main ingredient in oil pulling



Thyme

  • Relieves tooth pain

  • Fights against tooth decay, gum infections and other oral infections

  • Freshens breath


Cinnamon Bark

  • Antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal anti-microbial properties
